So, I don't have a cute story to tell you about how I've wanted to do hair since the day I was born. I actually had to ask my mom what I wanted to be when I grew up because I truly couldn't remember. Believe it or not she told me I had my heart set on being a Cowgirl when I was little. I can remember in high school I got this idea that I wanted to be a Flight Attendant. I was watching movies like Almost Famous, Blow, and Catch Me If You Can. Now typing this out I'm realizing how awful that must sound!! Because the content of those movies is pretty questionable. But all I can do is laugh! I thought about deleting that entire sentence but it had my boyfriend and I laughing so hard I figured I'd do what I do best and just keep it real with you! Now fast forward to the reason I didn't pursue my dream as a Flight Attendant.. I actually met one and they told me I would have to have a "natural" hair color, remove my piercings, and cover up my tattoos! Well, I didn't like the sound of that. I needed a new plan.

Hair Stylists don't run in my family but creativity sure does. I love being creative and I always enjoyed doing my friends hair and experimenting with my own so I figured, hey why not? If I became a Hair Stylist I could keep the piercings, show off the tattoos, have whatever hair color I wanted, and be creative every single day. Now, that sounded way more like ME!

So I signed up for Beauty School, completed the required 2300 hours, passed the state testing, received my license in 2014, and started leasing my first and only station. From there my adventure as a self employed Hair Stylist began.

I went to school for Hair, Nails, and Esthetics but I love doing hair and hair only! Once I got my groove down and finally found my passion I continued to educate myself because I always wanna be better than I was the day before. Continuing education is extremely important to me and I strive to always stay inspired. Inspiration is what keeps me going. I need it like I need my morning cup of coffee! I absolutely love learning and trying out new products and techniques. And I promise to never stop moving forward with the hair industry!!

 My main focus being hair color. I love doing gorgeous hand painted colors that I'm able to customize for each client. Balayage, Global Blonde and Fashion Colors are my specialty. I'm a very honest Stylist and if I feel like I won't be able to deliver the hair of your dreams I will be upfront about it. I will answer any questions or concerns you have for me. And if I think I know a Stylist who may be a better fit for you and your hair goals I am always happy to refer you to them instead. At the end of the day it's your hair and I want you to love your hair no matter who is doing it!

You can find me at Rootz Salon most likely rockin' bright colored hair, bleach spots on every outfit I own and a coffee somewhere close by. I absolutely love being a Hair Stylist! Every day is a little different which is perfect for me because I can't handle a repetitive job. Each client that sits in my chair is a completely different canvas than the last. It's never a boring day at the salon and I'm pleased to admit I enjoy heading to work on a Monday. ​​I'm so lucky I found my salon home on the very first try. I've been told that is pretty rare. I get to work with an AMAZING group of women who have become my family over the years. And I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
